Dua Lipa spoke to Rolling Stone magazine while at The Abbey in West Hollywood on October 9th to perform at the first ever National PrEP Day hosted by Mistr. She revealed she is working on her fourth studio album with Mark Ronson. The pair have previously worked together on “Electricity” and “Dance the Night,” two major smash hits. Dua said:

“Love is influencing the sonics. The music I’m making is very fun. I’m still in discovery mode but we’re having a good time. I love working with Mark Ronson. I’m so inspired by him. We work really well together, so I’m really excited.”

Dua Lipa‘s show in Rio de Janeiro on November 22nd has been moved from Estádio Nilton Santos to the External Area of Farmasi Arena, on the same date, to accommodate a Botafogo match that was scheduled for the stadium. All tickets already purchased will be valid at the new location. Ticket holders will recieve an email with more information. As Botafogo own the stadium, they are allowed to change any of the booked dates.

Rolling Stone have ranked the 250 greatest songs of the 21st century so far and, at number 94, is Dua Lipa‘s “Levitating.”

There’s no rulebook for how to write a pop smash, but Dua Lipa’s method sounds close: Get your best friends in a room (helpful if they’re ace songwriters Clarence Coffee Jr., Sarah Hudson, and Stephen Kozmeniuk), scarf doughnuts, pull tarot cards, and aim for Prince. “We were literally levitating from the sugar rush,” said Lipa. “This is about me exploring happy songs and doing something that’s not ‘dance crying’ … It’s about having fun and meeting someone and falling in love.” Released in the spring of 2020 as lockdowns killed nightlife, “Levitating” couldn’t serve its club destiny — which made it more essential, not less. A disco bliss-bomb for dark times, it ruled charts for 77 weeks. No one knew when normal life would return, but it seemed, as the song goes, we met her at the perfect time. —S.G.
